3 brothers arrested in drug bust in Bogo City, Cebu

MANILA - Three brothers were among five people arrested by anti-narcotics authorities in a weekend buy-bust operation in Bogo City in Cebu province, police reports said Sunday.

Brothers Joel, Benjie and Jovy Sumabong were nabbed along with Louie Ortega and Mark Pelayo on Saturday morning in Brgy. Malingin, Bogo City in Cebu, said reports reaching Camp Crame.

Raiders seized from the five men six large packs of methampethamine hydrocholoride ('shabu') with an estimated street value of P649,000; a fragmentation grenade, several firearms and ammunition, reports said.

The police also seized a multi-cab vehicle (ATT-8397) used by the suspects in their trade in illegal drugs.

The suspects and seized goods are now in the custody of the police, who are readying charges against them.

Free Drive for Disabled Passenger offered by a Soldier Working as Taxi Driver.

These past few months, people had been scared on riding a taxi. For every bad experience shared there is an equivalent for a good one.

This Taxi experience is different from other stories shared, this isn't about how rude or how bad the ride was but about how inspiring and heart-melting this experience is.

This story is shared on Facebook by Poy Yumping. A very inspiring story of a soldier who works at night as a taxi driver.

"I’m a disabled person and I want to share my great experience this morning with this taxi driver. Nag-aabang ako ng taxi with my Mom sa kanto namin dito sa Taguig. 5:00am dumaan si sir at agad namin pinara. Tinigilan niya kami at nagtanong kung saan kami papunta." Poy said. 

Poy told the driver that they were heading to Philippine Orthopedic Center.

the driver told Poy that he was about to end his shift that's why he won't be able to drive them to their destination but he offered them a free ride because he will just drop them off to a place near the Orthopedic Center.

When they got in, Poy then realized that the driver is a soldier. The driver was on his way to Camp Aguinaldo and works as a taxi driver at night to earn money for his three children on college, another one in highschool and his adopted daughter. At the end of their ride, Poy offered to pay for the ride but the driver refused to take it.

The soldier was said to be Mr. Elnar his cab plate number is UVA-164 Conqueror.

Anne Curtis did that famous ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. She was nominated by Billy Crawford. 

Vice Ganda did this challenge yesterday, August 25,2014 on Showtime. Anne nominated Luis Manzano,Angel Locsin, Regine Velasquez and Sarah Geronimo to do the challenge as well within 24 hours. Anne's boyfriend, Erwan Heussaff said that they will be donating to www.ALSA.org.

This Challenge was made to give awareness to others about the Lou Gehrig's Disease a.k.a. ALS. This was a neurodegenerative disease which affects the nerve cells in the brain. This challenge was done by many famous celebrities and other typical citizens.

If you were nominated, you have 24hours to do the challenge or else you will donate to ALS Association. Some who did the Ice Bucket Challenge reminded others that they should still donate even though they accepted the challenge to help those who have this kind of disease. This challenge was made because it has a similar feeling of having an ALS disease if you were poured with bucket full of ice water.

We should do this challenge not just because it was trending on social media today but also to give awareness to others and to help ALS patients as well. Even if you did it, you must still donate to ALS Association in other for them to give assistance to those who have this disease.

"Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health." 

People are aware that cigarettes can cause serious damage to one's body. However, some people could not resist on smoking. And sometimes they do need other people to remind them on how it could affect them.

One video is viral today. This video is entitled, "Smoking Kid". It was produced by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation to show how an adult knows that smoking is very harmful but does not stop smoking. But what would their reaction be if a kid smokes?

This video shows several adults who are currently smoking. Then, the kids would approach them and asked them for a lit. All adults were really shocked and could not believe that at their young age they are already smoking.

The adults reaction were as follows:

"No, you are too young."

"They drill a hole in your throat for cancer. Aren't you afraid of surgery?"

"Cigarettes contain poison"

"You look old when you smoke."

"If you smoke you die faster."

"Smoking causes lung cancer and emphysema."

After stating the bad effects the children replied, "If it's so bad, why are you smoking"

They are concerned of the kids who are smoking. Yet they forget to be concerned of their future.

Then the children handed notes to the smokers stating a message, "You worry about me. But why not worry about yourself."

Facebook announced that they will be adding options for the gender preferences in the profile of the Facebook users.

Aside from having the traditional Male and Female in the category, they will be adding options such as transgender or intersex.

These option may not be a big deal for most of the Facebook users but for those who are affected by the change it meant so much for them.

Facebook profile had been the identity of one user. It clearly represents each and everyone that uses the site. Thus, it would really make an impact to other people to completely tell in which gender they really belong to.

According to Facebook, different activists groups of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgenders will be the one to work of the thorough list of gender options which can be found inside the "other" category.

This new gender features will be available for US English users. But Facebook will definitely expand the implementation of the options.

Aside from having the opportunity to choose whether Male, Female or Others. Facebook is also giving the Users the chance to choose which title do they want to be called. They could opt to be referred to as "he/him" or "she/her" or by a neutral "they/their" choice.
